Default Bilstein vs Leveling Kit

I'd like to level my 2007 Classic 2wd, but I'm new to the leveling game and need some advice. A basic leveling kit ($100) for my truck consists of spacers that mount at the top of the coil spring.

I also need new shocks and ran across the adjustable Bilsteins, which would eliminate the need for a leveling kit. However, I have read a few reports that describe a rough ride with the adjustable shocks.

Opinions? Pros/cons with each?

Would you prefer to level the front or would doing the rear be an option??

You could always just drop the rear 2in to level it with the front with some $50 drop shackles, then there is no worry about ride quality concerns. Shock choice could be easier that way too, new factory shocks would still ride great.

Definitely don't want to drop rear - it's probably ok where it is. Front needs to come up about 1.5". I think a normal replacement shock for rear and adjustable for front would do okay, I am just worried about reports of a rough ride with the adjustable shocks.

I just mentioned Bilstein because it seems to be a popular brand these days, but I'm not particular about brand as long as it is good quality.

I'd choose the bilsteins over the spacers. just my opinion.

Bilsteins will be stiffer than stock regardless because they are a performance shock.

I have them all around on my truck, love them

Yeah, I had rather get the lift from the shocks, especially since they need replacing. Thanks for the response.

Wait wait wait, 07 classic should be NBS.... Should have torsion bars stock, right??? So you would need lift keys and a shock spacer. The NNBS trucks have coils and use a coil spacer.

If you have torsion bars I would do bilstein shocks (they make some that are 2" longer for leveled trucks) and lift keys

He's 2wd. But I do believe you would need taller springs or a spacer, and then the longer shocks

Ah you're right, Read right over that. Either way bilsteins are worth every penny. I have them on all 4 corners like you and its night and day from stock
