billet or cryo-treated output shaft?
#22
not to steal the thread, but i broke 2 stokers output staft already-
according to gmhightechperformance & century transmission
they claim- peened shot will be enought to replace the stocker, no need for billet...
"Mike says that the stock output shaft (left) is sufficient up to 450 rear-wheel hp. The cryogenically treated and shot-peened shaft (center) used in our Stage III buildup will handle just about anything a naturally aspirated street/strip machine can throw at it. For trucks and heavy vehicles like Impalas and GTOs that are running power adders, Century offers an optional 300M billet steel output shaft (right) "

the price is certanly a big difference peened ( 179.99) billet ( 450.00+)
any-b have any horror stories on the peened shaft?>

The shaft the KB broke and posted a picture in this thread is shot peened from the factory. It broke and it's not the first I have seen. Forget the cryo and the shot peened. Get billet and be done. Trust me I have seen it all. Vince
