Default Biggest wheel/tire combo without a lift kit on a 2500HD

Just like the subject says. I'm looking at wheels/tires for my '03 Silverado 2500HD. What's the largest tire I can put on a 16" wheel without it rubbing and while still filling up the wheel wells? Also, what kind of backspacing would be ideal for having the tires stick about 1" - 1 1/2" past the fender flares? I'm pretty new to the whole truck thing so any help or pics is appreciated. I don't even know what wheels look good on these trucks.

What is the bolt pattern on these trucks as well? 8 x 170?

If you crank the torsion bars a little I think you can run 33's.

I dunno. I heard you can do that on the older style trucks like yours. But I've heard different about the newer style. Anyone else have some input on this? 33's would look pretty good without a lift on there. If I could run 33's and not rub, I'd be a happy camper.

I got 305/55/20 Terra Grapplers on my truck, they are 33" and I had to swap out the torsion keys and cut some of the inner fender skirt. You can get by without replacing the torsion keys but the bolts could bend or break off. I have seen several truck with 285/75/16.

I have 305/50/20s on mine, there 32" and the only problem is backing up with the wheel cut all the way it rubs a little. I did have to cut a little bit of the inner fender well and the front air dam,no big deal still looks good.Never touched the torsion bars.

With some Crank you can clear 285's and 305's on stock wheels easy.
