Hello fellow truck owners.im looking into swaping gears on my 01 Silverado 5.3.its not posi yet.and im not sure which gears to go with.im looking to make my truck pretty fast on rolls.what gears you guys using and witch are best for rolls?!? Thanks

 

I would say a 3.73

Mine does rolls really good right now. i even had a thought of goin with 3.23s

 

Mine runs about 50 in first and 88 in second with 30" tires and 3.73 gears. 6000 rpm first shift and about 58-5900 second. Plenty tall IMO.

 

I like my old 3.23 for roll racing. Would run 115 in second. With my current 4.10s it leaves me dead in the middle of third gear if I drop at 70.

 

Deeps completely on what speeds you plan to race at? Ie 30-75 or 45-120 etc.

 

Ill be doing mainly 30 rolls.mabe sone 45 .60..

 

Story is i was messing with a 03 and up silverado.it was debaged so wasent sure if it was a 5.3 or 6.0.was loud.imo it was a 6.0.story is he was behind i saw him in my mirror he floored it .i tried to stop his pull by flooring it when he passed right next to me.didibt happen that way...he pulles about a car or so..now he thinks he beat me.in considering a stall.and gears to make it a roll monster.

 

If you want a roll monster dollar for dollar spray is your best choice. A 150 shot is enough to keep about anyone behind you.
