Helper bags will help you but your real problem is going to be what hitch you choose and can you make it stop with stock brakes.

A trailer that size will most definately have trailerbrakes. So your first step will be install a trailer brake controller in your truck. THat will easily take care of the breaking issue, hell you could stop your whole rig with just the trailer brakes. Secondly If where you are driving has many hills you will not be happy with the 5.3. It has power and can hold 65-70 mph, but when driving in hills, the transmission will shift in and out of every gear, you will be maintaining the pedal nearly to the floor and it just wont be pleasant for the truck or the driver. With that said a good set of helper springs or add-a-leaf, will take care of the rearend drop. You will want to get a tune to help with towing. (im assuming this is a regular basis thing, if not I would just tough it out) I have an 04 ccsb z71 with the 5.3 and I hauled a 21ft enclosed trailer with 5 4wheelers and all of our gear for a week long elk hunting trip into the mountains in colorado. Had my truck in first gear with pedal to the metal, for miles at a time. Going through those passes wasnt pleasant, but it made it.

Why are you trying to haul that much weight with a half-ton? Yeah, you could grunt it around with what you have, but that dosn't make it safe. Your motor, trans, brakes, rearend, axles are all gonna take a beating not to mention what the frame is being stressed with. That's why people buy the HD's. You could use airbags, a quality hitch, big swaybars, and larger coolers, but is it worth it? Hopefully you're only going to tow this once. Not trying to be a dick, but when it comes to that much weight running down the highway, it's better to be safe rather than sorry.

the trailer will never reach 10,000lbs.
The curb weight is 3300 lbs
500 gallons of water is 4000lbs
The pressure washer and other equipment will be <1000lbs
So chances are it will be under 8000lbs at all times
