Bad Wheel Hop With OBS
#1
it's a 98 RCSB with the 5.7 and many bolt-ons of course. I had a 2/3 drop on it then went with a 4-6. First reason was I wanted to flip the axle so I could run lift/snubber type traction bars (even though the wheel hop wasn't near as bad). And then the looks came second
Since the flip kit I have had major wheel hop, even worse and now I'm even running the traction bars. They are great for cruising and then romping on it but from a dead stop or doing a burnout it bounces like a SOB. I'm worried about blowing my rear-end because of this. Is there anything I can do to help get rid of this? The traction bars are on there pretty snug, should I clamp them down as tight as possible? I just didnt want to compress the spring too much but I'm thinking that may be the problem. I have also heard the pinion angle may effect it also...
thanks
Mitch

i had the same problem as you did. i've got lakewood trac bars which are the same type you got. Yes crank them all the way up my snubbers are always touching the spring. Also get some drag radials not to stop the wheel hop but your truck will just hook and go with the bars and DR's.
