Back to Disc Brakes???

Most of the reason the NBS trucks with drums brake better is because they went with larger discs and better calipers on the front where most of the braking is done anyway. I am sure it is not because of the drums on the rear.

While it's true that some 80% of your braking power comes from the front. Better braking and more even braking performance can be had with a good and well integrated rear kit.
For example... The Subaru WRX has a 10.x" rear brake. The Subaru Legacy has a 11.x rear brake. The WRX users will simply purchase that rear disc and caliper bracket for a Subaru Legacy (I spent some $200 for this upgrade myself) and experienced better braking that didn't dive so much during driving events, track days, and auto-x. This increased the brake torque and also increased heat dissapation.
Hopefully, something better comes out that is of OEM quality, with an integrated e-brake. Being able to putt something formthe GM parts bin is always a plus, someone just has to come up with the right mix of parts.
Those VW golf/jetta folks can tap into the Porsche parts bin for some honking huge brembo brake calipers. I envy them.
