AWD Transfer case
#1
Hey guys,
Im starting a build of an AWD 97 olds bravada. Im planning on swapping in a 5.3 liter engine. It has a 4.3 and a 4l60e and an AWD transfer case. As it stands now when the front shaft is in it,it makes a clunking sound as you accelerate. I figures it was the joint by the transfer case so I had a new shaft made, complete with bigger joints. It still makes the noise. I had a GM tech tell me it was a viscosity coupler in the transfer case. They were on back order from GM. Does any one know this to be a fact? Is it a common problem? Will it hold up to 375/400 horse power? If not what are my options? Im trying to get this figured out before I spend any money in the wrong areas. Im still in the planning stages so if any one has anything to add Id appreciate it.
