what gains did you all see from 4.10s? I'm going 3.42 to 4.10

Yeah, that's what I'll do. There's a performance shop not even a mile away- I'll stop in and get a quote from them.

Sounds like this is going to be more than I thought, but it should be worth it in the end, hopefully.

Just make sure if your gonna do it you need to suck it up and buy a locker too. Stock G80's go BOOM.. I'm figuring mine $1000 to $1200 gears,kit,locker,labor.

The more motor you have the more you will benefit from gears a stock 4.8 will not gain much, You'll see more bottom end gain and will lose top end 3.73s are really ideal for a street driven truck. Imo.

it cost me $275 to put in my true trac n 3.73s and that included the pinion bearing, crush sleeve, pinioon seal and oil.

Sounds like u got a good deal.
Fastgmc53 has a valid pt. If u can afford it, wait & install gears/ & a locker or similiar, all at once. It'll cost u more down the road if u end up doin them separate anyways. Not tryin to spend your $ for u, just sayin.
