Default Asap Help Needed

Installing a Yank tq converter. Had to replace pump with TCI part. All is back together trying to install the torque converter, but for the life of me, I can't get the "third click" that FLT was talking about in their write up. Someone please help guide me what's going wrong.

Thanks,

Ben

sometimes you won't feel every click in my experience. Put a straight edge across the face of the bellhousing and measure from it to you torque converter mounting pads. If you have about 1/4" it should be all the way in.

Haven't done that as a check method. But, if you were to attempt to touch the shaft of the converter when installed... A) You will barely be able to reach back there if installed correctly, B) You won't feel much of the shaft when installed correctly.

You won't feel every "click" either.

Default From install thread

Hope this info helps. You might have to stand the trans on it's tail in order to install the converter. It is a two man deal if you can not achieve the measurement provided below. 1.125 is what you are looking for from the face of the bell to the converter pads.

https://www.performancetrucks.net/fo...d.php?t=406113
GM 700 R4, 4L60E, 200-4R = 1.125" from bellhousing to converter pads.
Distance may vary +/- .050".
10.After the transmission bellhousing bolts are tightened, check to see if the torque converter will turn by hand. Push the torque converter back into the transmission as far as it will go. Using feeler gauges or calipers measure the gap between the flexplate converter mounting pad and the torque converter mounting pad. If gap distance is between .060" and .187" it is OK to bolt up the torque converter. If the gap is greater than .187" install a .060" flat washer between the torque converter and flexplate.
