Default Anyone run 3.23s with a 4l80e?

I DO NOT want to change gears again in this truck but may have too, and i LOVE my 3.23's with my 60e they load the hell out of my turbo, but im really scared this gear and an 80e is not going to be fun. Im getting a 258mm circle D 3k to go along with my swap but i dont know if it will be enough to get this thing moving along with some authority.

Give it a shot!
It should be sweet for roll racing, dunno your tire size or shift points but you should see atleast 70 and 120 as your shift points.
Let us knkw how you like it.

Thanks bud, i think ill try it for sure just for the fact its all i got lol.. but if its too much of a turd ill look into some more gears. I see several 3.42 guys with an 80e and a 3.23 to 3.42 is extremely close

Like you said, give it a try since you're already running them! You can always change them if you don't like them. You'll need to upgrade that walbro when you go 6.0.

I agree, my walbro didnt hold up to 10psi and a 50 shot. It started droppin pressure. So i did a bosch 044 intank and never had that problem. Now its all stock again. Haha

i think you will be pleasantly surprised, i just did an 80e swap a while ago and was worried about first gear (because of what ive read here) so i also did a yank sc3000, it was WAYY to loose for my tastes, brake stalled to 3400 with 3.23's and 6.0, pulled it for the stock 80e converter, while dave restalled mine, now i dont know if i want to go back, my truck actually runs better (feels better no dyno or track times to confirm) with the 80e stock stall than it did with the 60e stock stall...the 3.23's and tall 80e first gear actually give me a "stall" effect, in fact i kinda wish i would've saved the thousand and went with the stock stall. With my small cam and old ***** it feels great

I thought the same thing!!

Maybe he was saying the other mods in his sig?

I never even thought twice about the diff gear ratios of the 80e. I was tired of breaking 60Es so i went with it. Ill be glad to go back turbo soon.
