Default Anyone pull heavy loads with low trucks???

I'm trying to get as low as possible! I have a 2005 crew cab silverado with 22x9.5 rims and a 2/3 drop. I need to be able to pull my boat a couple of times a month. It's a 26 ft. boat that weight about 5000 lbs. Can I go to a 3/4 drop? If so, do I need to get some rear helper bags for it? Will this work? Has anyone else had any experience pulling with a lowered truck? Thanks guys!!

you'll definitely need helper bags unless you notch your frame.

My truck is 4-6 with 24x10s and the most I have pulled is a 16 foot trailer with a reg cab S10 work truck LOADED with all kinds of painting supplies. I just have air shocks in the back, I good cheaper alternative to helper bags.

My truck with 4/6 22s pulled about the same size trailer.

My wife's Yukon XL is lowered 3 inches and I pulled the same trailer with my Typhoon is Baton Rouge last week to pick up a Camaro and no problems. Get a 4" drop hitch and flip it upside down and put the ball on it. With a 6 inch flip nothing changes but the orientation of the axle, the hitch flipped is about 5 inches taller than the hitch and with air shocks you can air them to offset sag. Works great, Stacey's truck though has HD shocks and they don't know it is back there. I have pulled an AWD Eclipse 3500+/- plus trailer, Typhoon 4000+/- plus trailer, and Camaro 3400+/- plus trailer with hers no problem.

Cool! So I could do the 3/4 drop, maybe notch the frame a little, air bag helpers, and flip the hitch. Thanks for the help. When the set-up is done I'll take a picture with the boat and post it. I think I'm going to do the BellTech and the Firestone bags. Can I get this from our guys here??? I've done the BellTechs before and liked it. Any other ideas?? Thanks..

For the money just go get you some Gabriel Air-Jackers they are less than 70 dollars and put them on. I have never had any trouble with any of them and I always run them on the back. If you don't like them pull them off and sell them and you might be out 30 bucks if you sold them for 40. Just my opinion but until I ride in something with a helper bag I am sold on air shocks. Cheap and you can get about 4inches or better of lift. I can go from tucking tire in the back to atleast 3 inches above it unloaded.
