This is an old thread.....Dave I'd recommend looking at the FLT Lv5 only or going with a 4L80e swap.

DDDOOOOnot hesitate to get this tranny . Igot an 4l60e for my 97 chevy silverado and the bang to second gead is just as good as i bought it 2 yrs ago.The launce on these things are awsume alllll the way throughout the powerband.
