ok so heres my problem..2008 Silverado with intercooler.....so recently i had the cooler mounted like this behind bumper, has a lil grill opening for air
highway its perfect at 140-160 temps...once im at a stop or light rises to 180+ Attachment 132617 now you boosted guys with tru coolers...where do u have yours mounted with the intercooler in the grill? heres the way im thinking of doing it... Attachment 132618 what do yall think? you guys that run it like this in front of intercooler, did it affect AIT's? i might try and make it fit behind the intercooler.idk i just need to get rid of that heating up bs at idle....when i had the 6spd it hit 245 just waiting in line to race Attachment 132619 |
Subscribe i was just thinking about this i don't know were im gonna put mine also

Subbed also. Just picked up a tru cool and will be mounting it this time home. My inter cooler is still down in the stock location but would like to get one behind the grille eventually.
You setup looks like it would work just not sure how you would secure the tru cool in that setup. Be one heck of a mounting bracket. |
looking at your pics that lower bumper section looks like it has pretty good air flow to it. Would moving it up where you are thinking really provide a big difference?
|
I have mine behind my intercooler, but I would try a fan on.yours where it is to see if that helps
|
a bunch of people have them behind the intercooler, what temps do they see there? i could see that making the temps rise a bit, i would think where you have it is a decent location.
|
Same problem except mine was mounted flat behind my bumper. I just put a smaller cooler that came with my pb trans infront of my intercooler and got rid of my true cool for now. Even with a much smaller cooler its getting a lot more air and temps are a bit cooler but not much. At least I know on the highway I'm getting plenty of airflow

the lower location only cools the trans while your moving. |
Yea I'm going to mount it up top since it has more grill ( air space)then I'll see how she acts
