Default Accident Pics...how screwed am I?

I was rear ended a few weeks back and thought the damaged was limited to this:

So I removed the back half of the exhaust so I can drop the receiver and find this :

Can this section of the frame be repaired?

I need to call their insurance company again on Monday and take it from there.

depends on your insurance company, most will "total loss" with any frame damage and since its a 2000 model i wouldnt be suprised if they did!

If they total it, just buy it back from your insurance company for a reduced price. You'll probably walk away from the whole thing with a couple grand in your pocket.

Say they give you $10K, and you might be able to buy it back from them for $5K or something with a recovered or damaged title.

Haven't seen you for awhile. Sorry about the wreck. BTW, those wheels look badass on your truck. I'm not sure how it will work out but hope for the best for ya!

Just because it has frame damage, it doesn't qualify as a "total loss". My 96 Silverado got hit while my wife was driving and the frame bent on the driver's side at the firewall and sheared off the lower A-arm mount. But since there was not 1 scratch on any of the paint and the bumpers were still straight(lifted truck), the damage didn't equal enough percentage of the trucks value to equal a "total loss". The insurance company paid for a new frame instead. Your frame can probably just be straightened. Best of luck.

i really dont think they will total that!!!! its a 2000 with probably less than 80,000 from the looks. and that can be repaired within 1.5 hours more than likely less than that. i personally have helped repair a few and only took like 45 mins with torch and our frame machine. BTW me and my dad own a body shop, i fix peoples screw-ups everyday....lol did the bumper hit the lower corners of the bed sides??

My guess is they'll reframe it. It is becoming common these days infact most dealers stock frames for that reason.

dunno about NOT totaling my buddies 03 cc tacoma was totaled when he got rearened, cause the reciver hitch bent the frame 1/8 of an inch, they already repainted the truck and bought a new bed for it, then the body shop noticed it was bent and they claimed it as a total loss
