About to get traction
I did the opposite of what most of you guys do; I did a motor swap and installed my built trans first before ever touching my rear. The factory G80 is toast (still drives and is quiet but won't pull posi) and my stock 3.73's are fun but I want more. I just ordered a set of 4.56's from a fellow member on here and I'm ordering a posi from Ron this week. I can't wait to feel the difference in what it's (hopefully) going to do. I wish my SS3600 was an SS4000 now! lol I have to decide between the Truetrac and the Valuetrac....decisions, decisions. Anyone else running a 4.56 set with 30" tires? My DD street 20's are 30" and my Hoosier QTP's are 30" too. Should be fun. I was originally thinking the truck would run a 12.7-13.0 but I hope with the gears I can run mid to low-12's. I have a baby cam and a stock intake that are my limiting factors.

Be ready for your cruise rpm's to be about 2200-2500 with the 60e other than loss of economy you'll love the gear. I had these when I was running a t56 and a cammed lq9, truck cruised at 1500rpm in 6th. Ron currently doesnt carry the valu-trac or the tru-trac I dont know what the deal is??

should be a good upgrade, have to remeber the lower gear will make your stall tighter, most likly wont see much of a gain because of that, if it were mine id go ahead pull the stall and get it reset to a ss4k then you will see a big gain. I had the 4.56 ss4k setup in mine, the ss4k it pretty lose but it was a beast!

I have seen both in person, the value trac looks really good, almost beefyer then the true trac, they botg work good too, I just don't know if the value trac will hold as good under big power:.

I called Ron. The valuetrac is discontinued but I ordered a Detroit Truetrac with master install kit for $530 shipped. Ron was very nice and a pleasure to deal with.
