I had a lifted '98 ZR2, and was on a couple of ZR2 boards. There is quite a few 5 spd. ZR2s out there...all the differences between the ZR2s and the normal 4WDs are in the susp/chassis...the mechanicals are the same. That being said, as long as the 5spd. is out of a 4WD, it should swap right in...the only holdup will be if the '95 has the NV 231 manual shift...i'm not sure when the changeover to push-button came about. Your '98 has the NV233 push-button so you might have to do some modifications. Personally, I've driven a 5 spd. 4WD S-10 and it sucked...the NV3500 (5spd) has super long throws and shifts like a...well, like a truck. I'd save the headaches and beef up your 4l60E w/ a cooler, servos, shift kit and maybe a converter. Might want to think about regearing, too...I had 33s on mine w/ the factory 3.73s and it was a dog.
