Default 80E missed 2-3 shift?

What does it sound like happened here? I don't have a log because my laptop died at the track. Sounds like it was already at a higher RPM than where it was for the 1-2 shift (should be the same).

Could be a missed/delayed shift. Sounds like it hit the limiter.

Definitely hit the limiter there like it was in neutral. Heard a couple of clanking noises while starting back to the pits. Just took it easy and basically idled it back to the trailer. Raining all day today so I haven't had a chance to test drive/log anything.

Finally got to drive it. Didn't have to go very far and no need really for the log to confirm broken parts. Any throttle at all and it sounds like the trans is full of metal trash. Looks like input/output shaft speeds remain pretty much equal in both 3rd and 4th.

Pulled the trans today. I would say the small plastics bits in the pan are about the same size as the narrow ring on the overrun roller clutch. Of course there are also small flakes of aluminum, etc.

Dont feel alone here I killed my 80e this morning...for the third time. I'm friggen sick of pulling this trans. I'm so tempted to bite the bullet and buy a pro built trans with a warranty.

LOL....Think I've spent more time swapping transmissions than driving this truck.

This one is from Extreme and with 7 successful passes, it is the current record-holder for a pro built 80E under this truck.

What do you have the gear selector in when making passes?
