Default 6l80e?? is it worth it?

Im building an lsx sierra for boost abd im trying to figure out is it worth the work of transplanting the 6l80e ?? Is there special attention in need of tune??

07+ sierra I hope. These don't work in a NBS. And no, if your going for boost just jump into a 4L80e, even built 6L80e's aren't holding up to power in these heavy *** trucks.

Im building an 02 sierra 2wd 370ci twinn t72mm e85 and 14bolt with 4.10 gear on 315 dr..
Im looking for a long lasting tranny..

Everything I've read says with tuning the stock 6speed will hold 5-700@ the wheels .

But I'm learning also , is this not true or are higher power levels /tuning killing them ?

Just remember Weight is also a major factor in the lifespan of the trans.

They hold up to a lot of power in vettes from what iv seen. But I know silversleeper and hammer have blown a few 6l80e's off the top of my head.

OP the 6 speed is not an option for you in a 02.
