Default 6L80E Out - 4L80E In

I'm swapping in a built 4L80E into my 2007 Escalade. How hard is it to get it to work with the ECU, which is looking for a 6L80E?

I don't know of any easy way to do that. From what I understand, the 6l80e is run from the new CAN bus system and is completely different than what the 4l80e is from. The guy(s) who put 6l80e's in their pre-07 trucks put new tcm's in to run as stand-alones I believe, so maybe you could use an old pcm to control your trans on its own?

Please stop posting in the wrong sections. You are not contributing in any way, shape, or form when you keep going for cheap plugs on what you have to sell. Ontop of that, you must have not even read his post, let alone his thread properly because he said he took out his 6l80e and put in a 4l80e. He already has a new trans in, and also has a 6spd to sell.

Why are you ditching the 6-spd for the 4?

800 RWHP. I would prefer to be keeping it, or replacing with a built 6L90E, but that seems to be a pipe dreem at the moment.

Thanks for the input. The 4L80E has been ordered and is not in the truck yet. I'm just at the stage of ordering all the parts I'll need for the 427 3.3L Whipple conversion. Would sure be nice to swap in a built 6L90E that could handle the power as well as be selectable between 2 & 4 wheel drive. I need to be able to do a burnout regularly to keep the chemical balance in my brain in a state of equilibrium!
