Sorry guys, i've been moving and stuff so been out of this scene for a while...

NGS, you can ust bolt on the manual T-Case that came with the ZF6 on a Duramax!

JK, The mirros are GM trailer mirros for the 2007 Classic Silverado. They BOLT on! and even if you don't have Turn Signals in your current ones or heated glass you will installing them. It plugs right in but, they are about $90 for a set...

The snorkel is custom, buit it myself and it functional... hell it even dropped my intake air temps by nearly 15 degrees! w00t!

Just a quick update, the tranmission is still working great! I have no regrets with it. Drives as good as the day i put it in, the clutch is the same still crazy strong. I pulled a 4,400lbs trailer from Florida to South Carolina with no issues. I almost never had to even come out of over drive!

Thanks so much for this info!! Been looking for info on doing a tranny swap for my 5.3L 2000 Silverado 4x4 (Ext Cab) for a couple years now and this info will definitely help motivate me to go along with it!

Thanx for the Info! I was wanting/prepring ma self for a drivetrain swap and I was just goin to go with the NV4500, now I guess Im go to go with the ZF-6. I guess a couple 8 month+ deployments and I will be able to go with a 454 Vortec swap, ZF-6 swap, and a 14bolt-FF swap into ma Tahoe. I gues a 3rd 8 month+ for SAS swap. Again thanx man, your post wasnt just a "I wish/is it possible swap". It was an "I did it and it works, wut now post"

Nice swap!

What are the transfer case options with this trans? You mentioned 29 spline output.

I would like to run passenger side drop, preferably an NP205. Any idea how to make one work with this trans?

Any help much appreciated.

Apparently there is a somewhat rare Dodge version of the NP205 with a 29 spline input. It uses a drive sleeve. Not sure if it would bolt up correctly. I also heard that a Ford NP205 bolts up to the S6-650 but they have different spline counts.

So...you might be able to swap a 29 spline input from a Dodge into a Ford NP205 and bolt it to the trans for drivers side drop.

Or...swap the Dodge 29 spline input into a GM NP205 for passenger side drop. Would it bolt up?

Or...simply use the Dodge NP205 with the 29 splines, if it would bolt up.

Not sure if these approaches would work or not. Anyone?

IMO, a NP241 T-case from an 88-92 suburban or blazer (psgr drop) with the 4l80e is what you should be looking for. even if you cant find one that was behind a 4l80 (rare) you can always swap in the 29 spline input shaft without much trouble.

the guys at www.justchevytrucks.com might have what you are looking for, and if not, will definately steer you in the right direction.

It's a big block and the vehicle is heavy. The 205 might be better suited for this.

Great Build LA
Do you have a parts list? I am going to do this swap into my 86 K30 to replace the SM465. Do any of you all Know if the 205 from a turbo 400 will bolt right up. I beleive that this is a 29 spline input?
Thanks for any help

If you drop your diff ratio down to a 3.08-3.23 you would get better utilliztion out of the 1st gear, and have the engine turning at a lower RPM close to what a .65 sixth gear would get you.
