A 6-speed has been done by Lord Aries. He's occasionally here and you can look up his threads at ChevyAvalancheFanClub.com. There's a decent thread about his conversion over there:

I also posted my right up here too:

I used the 6-Speed form a diesel but, you could use the 5-speed from a 2500HD as well... Either one is pretty much a bolt up install!!!

LORD!
I noticed in your 6speed swap thread on the Avalanche forum that you listed the NV3500 and not very strong.

Is that the same trans offered in the 4x4's with manual transmissions???

Is there something that could make them stronger or beefed up. Specially for a Siverado SS or lowered 4x4 with all street use.

Or would the NV 4500 fit without a body lift? Are there different gear choices for there transmissions.

Klive, YES!!! It bolts up! as i say in the thread, you just have to use a 6.0L Flywheel with an 8.1L Pressure plate and clutch (which also bolt together). ALL GM V8's from like 1996 and up apparently have the same LS Bell Hosing Bolt patern...

GSX, the NV4500 is fine for up like 600hp... I went with the ZF6 because I am either going to a Duramax swap next or a 408cid Stroker with a big *** turbo. I think the NV4500 may fit with out a body lift but, I can't say for sure... Talk to the guys at nv4500.com for more info on the NV4500, they are some smart guys there...
