Default 4wd problems please help

ok guys i know this is asking you to step back in time a few years i have a 1996 gmc 1500 with the push button 4wd. On my way home tonight it started flashing the 4lo light but its still in 2wd and i tryed to switch it when i got hame and now all the lights are off and its stuck in 2wd ??? any ideas please help

i took and had it plugged int a tech 2 and it didnt show anything at all so idk where to start i would guess its either the switchs or acuator? does anybody have any ideas
