Question for yall. Have a truck with the electronic selectable transfer case(auto, 4hi, 4low). If i was to pull the front axle out to put one of the awd style in place of it; would there be any issues? Other than tricking the 4wd system to think the actuator is still working as intended. Thanks in advance.

It would show the "service 4wd system" i think.
But you can just install a spacer in your 4wd Front diff and then you have a "AWD" front diff.

 

What year truck?

On the early trucks I have heard of people leaving the actuator plugged in for the front diff.

What do you plan to do for the transfer case then?

 

It's an 18.

As for the tcase; I'm gonna keep it in there as is use it like normal. One of the bearings is starting to sing again. Figure if i pull it out; put something better in it.

 

I don't know how an 18 will react.

 

Wish i could put the awd tcase on there and make it full time awd.
