Default 4WD to AWD... from a manual t-case

how much harder do y'all reckon this'd be?
i'd imagine the worst part would be welding a plate in to cover the hole in the floor, right? other than that, it should be about the same as swapping from the electric 4x4, shouldn't it?

oh, and it'll bolt right up to the 5 speed, won't it? theoretically speaking - if they use the same 4x4 t-case with auto & manual transmissions, and they use the same auto trans (well, a 4L65 is almost the same) with the AWD & 4x4, then logic would say the AWD will bolt to the manual trans.

and how would towing be affected? i know off-road performance would diminish.
