Default 4wd to 2wd swap problems.

Well i am in the middle of my 4wd 4l60e to a 2wd 4l80e swap. So far everything has been going ok, but today i realized my shift linkage is not working correct. I am using the bracket that came on the 2wd 80e. the shift lever will not go all the way down to 1st. it seems to have park neutral reverse drive and third, then it will not go down any farther.

My queston is, are the shifter cables for 4wd and 2wd diffrent? or is it not working because im using a 60e cable on a 80e. Sorry if this is confusing,

No there should not be an issue with the cables being different. Normally you would use the linkage arm off of your 60 and the cable bracket off the 80 if I remember correctly. Vince

I had to adjust mine out a little bit on mine for everything to be just perfect. On the cable about 1'-1.5' back from the tranny linkage, there is an adjuster. Squeeze it together to adjust it in or out until it works all the way park to 1st.

The adjuster is right by the cable bracket just so you know. I'll bet that fixes your issues. Vince
