That makes sence, I was just thinking of the splind shaft portion of the 1/2 shaft that goes into the front diff housing...

what we did on my brothers 01 blazer was drill out the u joint right behind the wheel on the cv and viola! you have a stout hub bolt

yeah, i might just seperate the cv joint and leave part of the 1/2 shaft. a 2wd spindle would probably weigh less.

it's alot cheaper to do that unless you ahve a buyer for your 4x4 parts

depending on what brand hubs you get they can be about 250 each

a guy at work lowered his sss and used beltech 2" 2wd spindles. just a thought.

yup same pattern and spacing 2wd or 4wd

PM mater he has a GM salvage yard and can get you the spindles and parts you need to convert your truck over. I recomend him and his company thats where i get my parts from

Yep, you need the 2wd hubs Jim. All in all it's an easy afternoon swap -- I used everything else from the stock 4wd setup and just switched the hubs. Oh and a drive shaft, of course. It's an easy 700lbs I'd guess (from moving the crap around my garage every week lol).

I'd think about the rear axle too, though -- like will the 10 bolt be enough to handle 1200 rwhp
