Default 4L80e yolk leak question

I have a low mile factory 4l80e and it leaks out of the weep hole of the yolk after sitting over a week. My question is I know some fix it by welding the weep hole and some by changing an o-ring. What's involved in changing the o-ring and is welding the weep hole half a$$ing it? I have no problem welding it if it won't lead to other problems down the road. So what would you guys do?

Even easier clean it off with carb cleaner and used JB weld on it. Done them that way for years with no comebacks. All the ways above work also it just depends on your energy level and willingness level.

Default 4L80e yolk leak question

Well I welded the hole in the yolk up now it look like it is leaking near the plug where the harness plugs in. What goes bad inside these transmission to make it start leaking after sitting a week?
