yes, you need the spacer. It should be stuck on the 80e flywheel. It looks like a ~3/8" thick ring on the flywheel right where it bolts to the crank with 6 mounting holes in it.

well it isnt, when we pulled the fly wheel off it was very hard to get off. so i bet the spacer is still stuck to the motor it came off of. i am going to go today and see if i can get it off that motor. thanks

I believe the spacer is built into the 6 bolt pattern flexplate. err the 80e plate.

ok i got drive shaft done, and fly wheel done. the flywheel i got was correct the spacer was just stuck to the motor. also got the bolts for it. so now i have all my parts just have to install it all this weekend.

i did go with the neapco yoke and all new u-joints and replaced the center support bearing while i was there it was broken and balanced.

got the cross member done, installed and tranny installed. i will take more pics tomorrow

How far did you end up moving it back?

Did that neapco yoke and precision u joint work good for you?

i moved it back 6 1/4 and it was right on the money. yes the yoke and joint was a direct fit. so far so good, just have to finish trans lines, wiring, new cooler and tune. so getting closer.... just a very hard job to do on jack stands..lol

just to confirm, that is the bolt hole on the top moving back 6.25, right?

yea i just moved the center section back 6.25 inches. made sure to measure the end to end length. chop saw cut on marks, then made sure to account for blade width. i used 5 inch .25 inch flat bar (i didn't have any 4 inch) then tacked it into place. measure again and make sure it was square then weld it up.
took a plasma cutter and cut the extra inch on flat bar to make it 4 inch, grind and paint. it was a direct drop in and when the tranny mount stud was lowered into it, it was dead center.
