This setup is good to 700-800hp alone.

just because you add a shiftkit doesn't mean its going to hold 700-800..all tho many have good luck with them..theres still a ton that have trouble with used 4l80s..with a procharger and almost instant boost id be more confortable with a billet input shaft and a billet forward hub...not too mention the really weak overdrive sprag..if you go the rebuilt route make sure they install a old model overdrive sprag..if you like building stuff the right way don't install a used 4l80 especially if your installing a new expensive converter

I thought so too. My current trans had a TransGo and clutches, sprag, etc. Mild performance rebuild.

I think I'm in the category of not lucky. I was actually thinking of the Level 5 RPM. Going to call later today and talk to them about it.

Don't. You'll break it. I broke their Level 7 after 17,000 miles and they blamed me and wanted me to pay $650 to fix it.

Do an 80e swap from the start.

He already has an 80e

Mine was their standard one. Lasted 3 hard hears before it started acting up. Was shifting funny on the 1-2, like it was hanging both gears and binding, then would bang hard into second.

Was out of warranty by then and should have just sent it back to them and did the lifetime $995 cost rebuild on it but was in a hurry and spent more money having it done local and had a few problems with it after that. I was in the 800hp range with it. Would buy another one if I need one.

Thanks Kyle!

Good info to have. I contacted RPM and Jakes today, both seem very knowledgeable. Pricing is close to the same for trans with very similar parts. I'm going to call Performabuilt tomorrow. I read their warranty info on the website and don't see the $995 lifetime rebuild you mention. I guess I'll ask about it when I call them. I also don't see the 300M shafts listed on their build specs.
