Default 4L80e internal harness install..

I have a 95 4l80e in my 98 Sonoma. I keep having a problem with the connector on the side of the trans leaking fluid and putting it in limp mode. I ordered a new internal harness of amazon. Is it pretty straight forward to install it/ remove the old one? This is what I ordered. Does any sealant need to be applied around the new one. The old harness oring would just not budge to push the old one in place like it was getting hung on something? O-RING Need lubrication maybe?

in for info, i have the same leak, but hasn't put it into limp mode, just leaves a puddle. 4L80 also...

*edit* does it have an o-ring? i'd like to start with that, just had it rebuilt, so it shouldn't need anything else

I usually use a little assembly grease and push it in. Not really that difficult. You do need to make sure that you have it in the right position.

An external replacement harness is available, as ext. harness is subject to weather exposure degradation. The internal harness "Pass-Thru" connector is a force ft. Toll the O-ring up onto the connector body, use a bead of Permatex "Ultra Black" in the o-ring groove. Roll the seal into the groove, smooth out the sealant bead. Install into the case bore clean and dry. Use dielectric grease on the plug in connections.

It's very easy to remove the harness. They make a special tool for the connector but you can do it with a couple screw drivers. The connector has an o-ring and maybe that's what's leaking.
