2wd, came with the bottom cover, TC, shift cable and I paid $700 and he brought it to me. Tranny was in Houston but he was coming to Austin for the weekend so he tossed it in the truck and I met him on my lunch break today

so the rpo code says MT1 which comes out to a 4l80e but it's possible it has a 85e? 2000 3500 savanah with 350. It definitely whinnied in lower gears.

edit: Mn8 rpo code for 85e just looked it up

Mine was from a 2002 8.1 G3500 Express MT1 code. 100% without a doubt 85E though. GM never put anything less than the 85E behind the 8.1s. The Duramax Vans also always had the 85E. Some of the 350 vans had the 85E as well. 1st gear whine was louder than the Magnaflow cats/18" magnaflow muffler exhaust I had at the time I put it in.

Instead of making a new thread, can someone help me with the yoke?

85e I discussed earlier from a van. Came with slip yoke that has the weep hole. The "cup" on the output shaft leaves very little engagement splines for the yoke. It may be plenty strong enough, but can I remove that cup and just run the yoke? Could I weld up that pin hole, or does it need it for the in/out movement?

I would remover that cup and weld up the weep hole. That trans probably had a short bolt on yoke on it.

There's no bolt hole on the output shaft and this is the original yoke from the van. I won't be making huge power but it seems like more spline engagement the better. I forgot to check if this yoke could even slide in further with the seal and extension housing on there. But I'll be making a custom driveshaft so I would like to get it right the first time
