So I have searched all my eyes will allow me to do for a possible cause for the problem I am experiencing. I have 2001 Chevrolet 2500 HD 4X4 6.0 4L80E.
The problem I am experiencing is that when I come to a complete stop and take off again the truck seems to lunge or jerk almost feels like the transmission is slipping. It has happened a few times before but has been really intermittent and now is at the point of doing it everytime I stop and take off. I did figure out in all the diagnostics that I have performed that when the truck is in tow/haul mode it doesn't do it. I'm thinking maybe the pump or a solenoid is going out. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Pull the pan and change the filter. If there is excessive material in the pan then the trans is likely going out...does the pump whine loudly?

I'm going to try and pull the pan this week and see if I can figure something out. The fluid isn't burnt from what I can tell on the dipstick it still has a nice red tint to it and doesn't smell burnt.

These units have issues with bushing wearing. I have seen it many times while building them. The issue in some cases is where the turbine shaft will eat into the forward drum sealing area for the rings. I think this might be your issue. The reason why it seems better in T&H is because you have slightly higher pressures. HTH Vince

Ok so my next question is do you think hard parts are good still? As in can I just buy a rebuild kit and fix the issue or do you think any of the hard parts are hurt? Another diagnoses today is that when it's under a lot of load it slips shifting into gears.
