I bet it does, since the later-model 4L65E's came stock with them.

The crate 4L65E I got had a Vette servo already in it. I heard that some of the 2005 and higher 4L65Es got the Vette servo, though I don't know which ones, or if there was any rhyme or reason to it.

I have heard guys claim there 02 4L60E came with it,all the 65s I have seen, have not.I believe there are a few out there that think they have it when they do not. This 70E has a different feel. Not like a 65e you slap a servo in but more like a fuller/more bodied shift with the pressure turned down, and firms up at WOT.The crate 65E I believe is likely.

I agree, the 4L70E feels awesome stock. Feels like my crate 4L65E did after I installed the Transgo, Vette intermediate servo, and Superior overdrive servo. And this is without touching it yet via programming. From what I've heard from the guys who have had programming changes in their TBSS's, it firms up even more.

A guy I was talking to in Louisiana, says the 70E already has shift kit type internals and he wouldnt mess with them. He does have billet servo's for it though. I have this trans and might install these before my pCM tune. Dont know yet....I have the LQ9 and really want to take the TM off and let this motor run, i dont want to fry my trans though.

The part numbers are different for the servo housing and piston for the 4L70 than the part numbers for the vette servo. I have a set coming to see what the difference is, I'll let you guys know when I get them.

Excellent, that's great Chuck, thanks!

What a privilege to have experts like Chuck around to keep us informed and help get us up to speed.

I'm curious if the 4L70E could benefit from a servo upgrade - either the intermediate serve, the overdrive servo, or both.

Will you be getting a 4L70E valve body in to see what the innards look like?

I will probably wait until I get my hands on one of these transmissions before I do that.
