Default 4L60e won't park...........

Know this has happened B4 to someone, I dropped the trans pan to install a new filter and fluid and 'pried' the shift linkage aside to wedge the pan out. Now the truck won't go into park. I remember something happening like this on my 2001 can't remember what the remedy was. Guys I need advice..........
Thanks

take the cable off and see if it goes into park, hopefully you pried the shifter cable bracket and if its not going back into park you just need to bend it back until it does. word of advise..... dont do that

Thanks- all good, in my haste to get done I didn't put the cable in the bracket. Something else I didn't like was when I took off and drained the filter the fluid had this coffee look to it with a touch of creamer

That really isnt good sounds like burnt watery trans fluid.... Either water is getting into the trans, or your trans cooler took a on you, either way not good!!!

Hmm- OK I'll keep an eye on it. Since I'm so good at this now I'll drop the pan and filter again next year. Trans act and feels fine

btw- anyone have a source for more affordable 4L60e filters? 60 bucks a pop at the dealer is a bit harsh on the wallet..................

Yup, napa.

I never use delco filters, half of them are made in china anyway. A new WIX filter from napa is under 20 bucks last time I checked.
