Default 4l60e sunshell clearance

Looking for some advice here if anyone can shed some light. Pulled a buddy of mines transmission down (smoked the 3/4s) for rebuild. Going back together got to the half way point of the output shaft snap ring. Snap ring went on perfect but when spinning the output shaft it spins one way fairly easy however the sunshell drags on the case somewhere. Trying to spin the output shaft the other way is nearly impossible without using a rag between the shaft and your hand. When it does turn that way, it seems like it gets hung up. Any ideas what it could be? I've done probably ten 4l60e and about 5 or 6 700r4's over the years and have never seen anything like this. Only thing I can think of is maybe the rear case bushing is crooked. If anything else was off down the line the snap ring wouldn't be installed. Correct? Thanks for any help!

Sounds like an issue with the center support/rear sprag...output shaft should be fairly tight in one direction and easy in other... Had similar issue with my build but wasnt until i installed pump, found out my selective thrust washer was too thick and putting too much pressure on the input drum with the pump installed...

It turned out to be the anti clunk spring out of position! I spun it a few times and it made witness marks on the sunshells edge. Thank God it was something simple!
