Default 4L60E Performance Question

Alrighty guys, got a full rebuild but the rebuilder kept my HD2 kit in it ! So he say. Anyways so I was going to do a little more upgrades such a as Sonnax boost valve and Pinless accumulater. Are those going to give me any Performace or is that just to fix issues that have already occured? If so I can send back the whole kit I got. Which would be nice but I don't want to do this again.

I personally don't use the pinless accumulators shifts a little too soft for my taste..if you have worn accumulators or the pins then yes upgrade too the sonnax pinless..if not just keep the setup as it comes in the HD2..the sonnax boost valve is way better than the transgo as sonnax has orings and seals real good..also check the 3rd exhaust accumulator valve located in the case behind servo..alot of builders don't know it exists and if its leaking pressure it will burn the 3/4 frictions pretty quick.

The 3rd accumulator is cheap insurance too, some builders recommend replacing it whether its bad or not, and the sonnax kit has another check ball to go behind it in the event it does leak....it is a pain to get out the first time you do it though....

I got a full rebuild so nothing was reused in the case except my old HD2 and my corvette servos. Should I maybe freshen up the shift kit and shipped everything else back? The only reason why the tranny burnt up was from my precious hand held tuner (Diablo) set the pressures to high and would chirp tires in every hear about half throttle. Now that's off and I have a dyno tune. Any input on that would be great because the tranny is out and dry and I don't wanna do it when it's full with fluid and it's easier too.

shifting too hard will not burn the frictions..it will break hard parts like output shaft or planets etc but will not cause burn ups..i would return everything and leave the trans as is

Did the kit come with a new 3rd accumulator pill.... When you pull the servo you can see it in the servo housing.... Rebuild kits usually dont come with it!!!

Yes it's came with the new accumulater. I think the guy who rebuilt it for me last time didn't do all of them and replace what was bad and left what wasn't or what didn't have much time.

Ive heard of a lot of people complaining the transgo kit makes shifts too hard... I have the sonnax performance pack in mine iwth the transgo spring kit and a vette servo.... My shifts are firm and quick but not that ridiculius bang into gear....

just add 1 spacer in the 1-2 accumulator..or get the 2 oem springs and enlarge the 1-2 feed hole to .110.
