Good call man, the billet shafts are pricey but worth every penny. If you search this section you'll find multiple pics of broken stock and hardened shafts. Sounds like a stout trans and a good shop

Yea this shop definitely knew what they were doing, and exactly why I went with them.

How is your tranny holding up? I am in the market for a rebuild also? What did it run you?

Lee- you shopping around still? Maybe we can get a group rate

They also offer a 12 month warranty too which really appeals to me, since I don't have time to be doing the labor myself if something goes wrong.

I could have had my trans built cheaper locally, but opted for the piece of mind that I'm getting from the good folks at FLT, who have an excellent reputation here. Performabuilt also has been top notch to our members who run their trannys. I'd rather be without my truck a little longer as I save up for a quality trans now, than have to pull the unit numerous times in the future
+1.
$1500-2200 is budget? I'm surprised u got billet shafts in that price range. As Coban said, you're in FLT/ PB territory $ wise, but I understand if u didn't have time to do R&R yourself. Glenn, u said the shop that did it has quite a bit experience w/. F/I LS1 based vehicles. Any trucks?

I'm curious, did u get it tuned for tranny?
I'm goin to be careful now w/. 60E's chirping gears between shifts. I keep reading increased line pressure to do that leads to broken parts.

I hope it meets all your expectations.

Well so far its running great and I get on it hard just about every day. The whole thing was $2200 installed and has a 1 yr warranty. I so love how fast and firm the shifts are. I also love how it really kicks and spins the tires in 2nd. As far as breaking parts, well I guess anythings possible but with that 1 yr warranty I'm not to worried. Lastly I like the fact that if something goes wrong I have a local shop I can take it too and don't have to worry about shipping it out and subsequently being without transportation for an undetermined amount of time. As far as getting an FLT tranny that was my only issue preventing me from getting one.

And a tune for tranny too, or is it on the list?
