I know this is old but FIY do NOT order from River Side Gear, they DO NOT ship same day or next day if you order before 3 like their website states, it took them 2 days just to create a shipping label... very short and unhelpful and when asked why their website said ship same day and it took over 2 days guy called me A**HOLE when a simple were busy or it was forgotten would have sufficed... needless to say I canceled my order

Does it matter what year the 6.0/4l80e combo came out of? Cause I've heard that the earlier engines had a longer crankshaft which required a similar year tranny or an adapter for the flexplate. Does that not translate to a different driveshaft length?

Yes this thread is old, I would like to share my findings.

I have a 01 silverado RCSB 2wd that had a 4.3/4l60 in it.
I installed a 2001 6.0 with 4l80e. I used the yoke that came on the 4l80e and kept my V6 driveshaft.
The conversion joint that worked for me was part number 447 from Oreilly auto parts.

I hoped that this helped someone!

That's good info. I didn't have a v6 but a 5.3. Doing the 80e swap now and I haven't purchased the joint yet.

Can anyone verify if the stock rear shaft can be reused on a 2003 RCSB 4L80e swap, with a NP246 transfer case or 4x4?

Thanks!

Hey man I'm doing the same thing this weekend. Why am I reading so much about having to use the turbo 400 slip yolk? Vs the stock 4l80e one with my stock 1500 drive shaft? I'd prefer to do as u and use the stock slip yolk.. what's the deal. I appreciate it!!
