4L60E/4L65E build up parts
OK so I want to beef up my 4l60e as much as I can, and hope it will hold.
Here is a list of parts from PATC's website
-Billet Intermediate Servo
-Overdrive Servo
-13 Vane Rotor Kit
-Borg Warner 29 Element Forward Sprag
-Raybestos Pro Series Kevlar Band
-Z-Pack 3-4 clutchs
-Alto Master Kit (PATC Special)
-5 Pinion Rear Planet
-5 Pinion Front Planet
-Wide sun gear Bushing
-Transgo Stage 2 Shift Kit
-Pinless Acc. Piston
-Extreme Duty Torque Drive Package (hardened input shaft and drum assembly + hardened reaction shell)
Is there anything I am missing, like other gm 4L65e parts.
My truck is daily driven and not abused very often, and I never take it to the track. I estimate current rwhp to be 350-360, but I have plans to build a rear mounted turbo system in the future, but keep the boost to 5-8 psi, so lets say 450-500rwhp.
BTW I am going to build it myself.

How much is all this on your list going to cost? How much would the installation run you? Will it be enough for hard use at the track or on the street which can be worse than the track with bumps, potholes and all the other crap that you'd encounter on the street? And last of all how much power will all the mods let you trans handle. I ask all this because my trans is slipping like crazy right now and is basically undriveable. I'm trying to find some options to fix my lump of crap 4l60.
Thanks man, did not want to hijack your thread so sorry.

It comes to around $1300 for the parts, I don't know how much it would cost to have it installed. I want to do it myself to gain experience, and I don't trust anybody else to do it.

Sounds like my parts lists that I bought in 02 before the Great KDS disapeared
It all sounds good. Looking at it quickly all I noticed was the hardened output shaft,
I think you will happy with the results.
Although I don't have a 6.0, I do floor the cammed 5.3 alot when I get to drive it.

I am still not 100% sure I want to keep the 4l60e or go with a 4l80e.
My concerns with 4l80e swap
- How much slower will I be (RWHP loss)
- Will it be a dog out of the hole with the 2.48:1 1st gear
- My truck will be down longer
- Cost (need a new TC most are $800-1000)
- Transfer case?
- Driveshafts
I'm am starting to think hard about the 4L80E, I have a flexplate already, and a wiring harness I could make work. It looks like the input gear in the transfer case could be switched, but I haven't heard of anyone that as done it.
