4L60 not shifting after rear main
#1
Title basically. My 4L60 ain't shiftin worth a **** after doing my rear main. I've topped it off with trans fluid, tonight I will get under and check all the wiring and stuff. It feels like I don't have a 3rd or 4th gear. On the highway driving to work I was driving just fine and then suddenly no 3rd or 4th. I can't get above like 50 mph without just cruising at 4k RPMs. I don't hear any clattering, banging or loud noises under the truck so I don't think like I lost my TC or flex plate lol
Pls advise, I'm not a trans guy. I know how to pull it out but that's about it.

There is a harness on the passenger side that is really common to get pinched between engine and trans. Might be worth checking that. I forget exactly what that harness does/controls: but lots of ppl have had issues with it
The other thing to check is the shift selector switch and ensure it's positioned/adjust correctly so that D on the stalk is actually D at the trans

When you say between the engine and the trans do you mean like against the floor correct?
Also for the shift selector switch, wouldn't I have an issue with going in reverse if that was the case? Or neutral?

No, I mean between the block and bell housing
Couldn't tell you on the selector, the positions aren't concentrically located to the shift lever, so I assume there is some "non-linear" motion there and the further you pull the stalk, the further off target you might end up

Okay definitely don’t think it’s between the block and bell housing but I will check it.
Hmm I figured if I was having issues like that then **** like park would be drive or park would be reverse. I can check that though.

Post where I'm arguing. Literally said I'd check every time.
I just don't know exactly how the shift lever and the switch work. All I had said was that if it was somehow not putting me in D on the lever then shouldn't it also not put me in R or P or N? Didn't think that was an argument thought.
