Default 4l60 | no 2nd, has 4th, 2nd ignition wire?

truck is a 05 silverado crew cab short bed 2wd LS. 2nd gear disappeared under load but 4th gear still works, 2nd gear will engage when truck is on a lift but revs to the moon on the ground (still in 1st / 2nd slipping / not applying)
I have tried installing the Sonnax performance pack, both billet servos, sonax heavy duty 2-3 shift valve, & transgo seperator plate with no change

Does anyone know what damage could occur from the 2nd ignition wire not being hooked up
https://www.the12volt.com/installbay....asp?tid=62858
I have two of these trucks and the other one seems to have more stay on when remote started, so not sure if the damaged trans may have come from this 2nd ignition wire

Thanks in advance

Smoked 2-4 band? Or the Forward Sprag Clutch Assembly issues?

I'm looking at the Range Reference Chart of ATSG.

I'm not following you on your second question. That's unrelated to your transmission question, right? I don't know on that one.

Thank you for your response

I was thinking it was the band, but it seems to hold 4th too well, I doubt it's an assembly with how long it lasted, I plan on doing a rebuild but I'd like to have an idea of what happened if possible

the second question is related just because I'm curious if that possible transmission damage from not having that other wire hooked up is what caused this issue

Maybe not the band because it is applied in both second and fourth, agreed. But band and the drum it applies IS a common issue on these units.

The "assembly" is a clutch pack and has a sprag. Not assembly as far as how it was put together. I think it is supposed to hold on second per the range chart but not in fourth, so that may be the problem. The sprag in that assembly is perhaps is not holding.

Does second gear work if you put it in manual 2?

The band is applied in 2nd and 4th, but with different portions of the servo assembly

It is very possible to have 4th apply and 2nd not have enough pin travel to clamp the band

I'd definitely start by checking band clearance and inspecting the condition of the band. Sonnax makes a longer pin but it's usually a bandaid for a band that's worn.

No, the wire will not cause 2nd to fail.

I forgot about that pin, i did put that in when i put the servos in as well. I had read something about the check ***** getting stuck in the separator plate so that's why i changed the plate and the ***** out as well but no luck iether
