Don't you have the newer 5spd though? I thought they had a redesign in 03 or something with yours being the stronger of the two. I don't think they can be any weaker than a stock or mildly modified 60E though. I know the T56 is a poop-ton stronger.

Mine is the tremec TR-3450. I am unsure of when they swaped over. My 95 has the NV3500 and has 170k miles on it and has held up to my 383 with 150hp shot on it a few times, power-shifting (that is not letting off the gas when you shift). I've never had slicks on it though. I did replace the front brg in it at 69k miles. That is basically all I've done to it.

wow that post of mine is old news!....so far mines a 6.0 lq4 running n/a cammed with pacesetters for now til i get all my turbo part together.Ive been runnin on the nv3500 for 3 years. I use the 4wd in the winter otherwise id have a t56........ swapped in the 6.0 last summer im only on my 2nd nv3500. theyr strong at first but not strong enough.

04 Reg Cab Step Side here with a 5speed. I have the Hurst shifter on my truck. I love it!!!!!

The TR3450 is that the same tranny and clutch and internals as on the 05 4.3l v6,if so can the Hurst short shifter work on the v6 aswell

super-old bump, but i just figured i'd chime with my bolt-on 5.3 nv3500 4x4. running 33s with a TrueTrac, 4.30s, and a Hurst shifter. bought it in Nov '06 & still going strong with almost 213k on the clock.
