The trutracs that you've seen doing one wheel peels are probably running synthetic gear oil, Eaton recommends conventional gear oil with the trutrac, or it may not function properly.

dont do it, if youre gonna make a gear swap then go one step bigger, in your case 4:30s or even 4:56, you wont see any improvement going from 3;73 TO 4:10, TRUST ME I BEEN THERE!!

so DD 4:88 gears but then again with 4:88 gears im concidered a race truck!!

In my case, 4.10's with 28" tires at the track is just about right. Those of us with Maggies don't spin to nearly 7000 rpm like you do. I shift at 6400. Then I'll run my 31.5" tires on the street & not kill my mpg.

BTW, your truck is badass Skeet.

Can't get 4.30's for the front diff. Choices are 4.10 or 4.56.

My mind is made up already...

I seriously don't understand how these threads have all this advice on what gear ratio to run when no one even knows or posts the tire size. How can a gear ratio be recommened when the most important informaton (tire size) is left out?

With that said, a good all around gear for performance/daily driveability goes as follows.

28" = 3.73's
29" = 3.90's
31" = 4.10's
33" = 4.56's

That's a good ball bark gear for your original question.

Right now I'm running 255/70/16 I believe that is a 30.1" diameter. When I get new wheels and tires I may run a slightly taller tire. Thanks for the advice, I should've posted tire size first.

What if I have 37" tires Matt, can I run 6.40 gears? :

I think you'd be very satisfied with 4.10's with that combo. I wouldn't choose any other gear.

For you Julien 6.40's and 37's still won't get your low compression pig moving. I'd recommend a 7.90. 7.90 revolutions to 1 tire rotation will really help wake her up!
