I have an 2wd 5.3 06 ccsb with 3:23 gears. Bottomend sucks and I do alot of driving so I am looking for an all around gear. Wheels are stock for now but 20's are comming soon.

 

What diameter tires are you runnin/planning on runnin? As that will have an affect on your final drive ratio...the taller the tire, the steeper the gear that you want generally. Does the truck see a lot of highway, around town, or a mixture of both. I have 3.73's, and they're a nice all around gear for the most part. Currently I have a 31" tall tire, and it isn't so bad. When I had 33's, it really sucked off the line, but cruisin RPM on the highway was nothing. Personally, I'd really like 4.10's for that extra off the line punch, but a decent torque converter is planned for that...

 

The truck gets a pretty good mixture of town and highway. More town if I had to pick just one.My tire also measures about 31" and I will stay close to that with the 20's.I would at least like to spin off from the line every now and then.
