That sounds about right. On my 99 ecsb, I ran a best of 15.40 with 3.42 and open diff. I added the 3.73 w/ g80 and the hpp3 and ran a 14.99. Your gains were a little better than mine.

That is good news. I have a set of gears waiting in the garage.

On my truck I dropped around 3-4 tenths goimg from 3.08's to 4.10's but lost about 3-4mph in the process, I went from trapping at 5500 rpm in 2nd with 3.08s to trapping at 4800 rpm in 3rd gear with 4.10's. 60ft dropped by .3 seconds.
I can launch at WOT with 4.10's and open dif, after a hard burnout. But not consistently.

I would think the 5.3L truck would respond better to gear swap than my 350 L31 because of my much lower rpm torque peaks than the higher winding LM7's.

4.10's with 28" tires gave me a 2050 rpm cruise at 62 mph in OD TCC locked, in town cruising is much improved.

peace

what i am experiencing with 4.10's and a stall is first gear is basically useless. i think ranwalk is having the same experiences. too much torque and then bam, your in second gear. stock stall and 4.10's are great. btw, i didn't notice much et reduction from going from 42's to 73's to 10's

I bet a stall and 4.10's would make a fun daily driver!
