2wd 4wd diffrence

Default 2wd 4wd diffrence

What is the diffrence between the 2wd and the 4wd 4l80E just the adapter on the back right I mean if you change that thats it right one is a adapter for a transfer case and the other is for a tailshaft right? I found a cheap 2WD 4l80 and I need to know ASAP

I was told (at least with the 4L60) that the 4x4s had a stronger case, I have no idea if this is true of the 4l80
