Default 2012 shackle bolts.

new to the forums, hello to all. i truly hate asking a simple question, but i goin' to. i just bought a 2012 Chevy Silverado LS. i got (for free) a set of shackles to level it out. on mine, you can't raise the unbolted spring/shackle up enough to get the top bolt out over the frame. there is a 1/2-3/4 inch body seam there that stops it. i hate to bent it over and cause rust to start. the more we looked at it, raising the bed may be the best way. just hate to cut and grind on a new truck. (1700 miles) am i missing something a lot more simpler?

Welcome to the forum, raising the bed will be the only solution if you don't want to bend it.

Just loosen the last 4 bolts closest to the bumper and I let the leafsprings pick the bed up. Makes it easier to do the rearmost six bolts.

that was the plan, just the back couple. getting it a inch shouldn't be hard at the back where the shackle bolts are.Name: DSCF0075.jpg

i removed the hitch on mine to get one side out, and had to drop the passenger spring to get the other side out and more or less use a trans jack to hold the rear end in position and remove the u-bolts ad such to get it to drop low enough to get an angle to get the shackles out
