Is a TechII the only way to know which shock is bad?

I'm back on trying to fix this system. Before I spend money on parts I want to make sure that the ESC module works, so I'm looking for the Service Suspension error message. After replacing the 40A fuse I disconnected the negative battery cable and let it sit for about 10 mins, then reconnected and did not get an error message. Is that enough time, or the correct procedure to try and get the ESC module communicating again? Any suggestions on what to check next?

I haven't been able to find any diagrams for a 2011, but I did find this for a 2007 on AutoZone's website, anyone know if it's the same?

So I decided to try pulling all of the fuses to see if it would throw an error, and it did, so that tells me that the ESCM is communicating. Since that's the case, I went ahead and ordered a new compressor and a set of Arnott reman OEM shocks.
Should I have had an error message with a bad compressor? Both of the sleeves on the air shocks are torn, so there has been absolutely no air in the system. Would this cause the rough ride we've been experiencing? I was thinking that the autoride shocks were defaulted to their max damping setting but now I'm thinking that's not the case.

The leveling sensors on the front are to measure ride height while driving not necessarily load leveling, more of a ride cushioning on the front
