2011 avalance Driveshaft | Gears/Rear End/Differential guidance needed
Hey everyone I'm in need of some advice to finish up my build. I have a 2011 avalanche 4wd with a 6L80 in it already, looking at around 600whp at 12lbs. I haven't found much on the weak points, but what I have found is saying that I should to replace my POSI, axles and maybe my drive shaft. Is this accurate? If so can you make any recommendations? This is my daily driver so I'm wanting to address the weak points before they break. Thanks for your time.

I'm not sure how many people are doing the axles shafts themselves but the stock G80 rear will explode at some point.
I'd say the tru-trac rear diff is a popular choice among people. You can do lots of re-search on that if you want, it'll do what you want it to.
Getting a built driveshaft is for sure wanted. If space/clearance is an issue. Go with like a 3in or 3.5 thick walled steel driveshaft, it should handle that power and be rated for a much higher speed than a factory drive shaft that likes to explode above 100mph. Talk to a driveshaft shop and tell them what you are doing and the power it needs to hold, they should be able to get you squared away with something.

I broke my carrier in half, I went with a Detroit Truetrac bc it has gears and no clutches to wear out. Beware of Yukon bc it has issues with noise and failures. I'd do it before it explodes, mine was cracked across the carrier, if it would have let go it would have really cost me a ton of money...

Just do Truetrac, is your truck autotrac? Does it have factory steel driveshafts?
